Speaker: Sergey Boronin.

The report deals with latest results of the study of linear stability of plane Couette suspension flow with uniform and non-uniform particle spatial distribution. The possibility of the comparison of results obtained with the study A. Furukawa, H. Tanaka "Violation of the incompressibility of liquid by simple shear flow" // Nature. 2006. V.443. P.434-438 is discussed, where the new mechnism of instability of shear flows is discussed. It was found that shear flows of compressible fluids with the viscosity depending on the density are unstable.

2009.10.07. Film Boiling near Critical Point of Hot Body.
Speaker: Vargaftik G.M.

The dynamics of a vaporous interlayer developing when incompressible viscous fluid flows on a hot perpendicular wall is considered. The temperature of the wall is above the boiling temperature of the fluid. This problem appears in the modeling of a hot body moving in a liquid, when the temperature of the body is above vaporization temperature of the liquid, and, consenquently, in the vapor explosion modeling.

We assume that there is a film boiling on the surface of the wall and the vapour interlayer thickness is of the same order of magnitude as the boundary layer of the liquid. The governing equations for 2D problem in the boundary layer approximation for liquid and vapor phases are formulated. Solutions of combined boundary layer with inner phase interface are expanded into series with respect to logitudinal coordinate in stagnation-point region. The system of partial differential equations for principal members of decomposition is obtained and is solved numerically.

The basic similarity parameter is a parameter including the relation of heat of evaporation and liquid and wall temperature difference. A range of the parameter described above and initial vaporous interlayer thickness is found for which a stady-state regime of boiling exists. The range of parameters for which stady-stade regime of boiling does not exist of obtained as well.

Speaker: Irina Golubkina.
Scientific adviser: Dr.Sci., prof. A.N. Osiptsov.

Different types of shock waves in dusty gases are considered in the report. Special attention is given to so-called fully dispersed waves - structures forming in transonic heterogeneous flows, when gas-dynamic discontinuity is substituted by continuous gas and particle parameter change region. Flow near weak compression shock intersection is investigated. The values of influential parameters when incoming and/or reflected shock waves degenerate to fully dispersed waves are obtained. Structure of direct fully dispersed wave and flow near fully dispersed wave intersection are calculated numerically with relaxation method.
